Intent: A Tool Show

Intent: A Tool Show: This exhibition will highlight the engineering and creative brilliance that goes into making sculptures by focusing on the jigs, patterns, ideas, software, and tools used to create the work. It can be argued favorably that the process of creation is just as much a work of art as the object or performance it results in. The remnants of the creative process are often cast aside with little value associated with them; whether these are notes, sketches, prototypes or failed attempts, the artifacts are insightful. From the mundane and utilitarian, this show repositions the artifacts from the periphery of the iron casting process to hold a place of prominence all on their own. It is through these relics that we gain insight to the artist’s innermost creative drivers.
